RDS prides itself on the fact that all of our engineers are trained in all aspects of the approved product we install and work on, ensuring they are both full competent in what they do on a daily basis and that they are working to and within the set industry guidelines and standards.
Investment in our staff is a top priority at RDS, working to a rigid training matrix all of engineers and back office staff are trained to the very highest of standards, giving that added reassurance to our important client base that we care and we are doing things the right way, each and every time.
Below are just some of the qualifications and certifications our staff have achieved.

RDS can now boast that all of our industrial door technicians that service our prestigious portfolio are full Dynaco approved installers. Having undertaken the intense 3 day course in Aalst, Belgium. All of our engineers are certified installers of the full Dynaco product range and are competent in the installation, repair and are rehearsed in being able to specify the right product for the right application.
The Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) Safety Diploma Qualification

To obtain the NVQ our engineers complete multiple site supervision visits by an independent assessor, who undertakes a series of different assessments on that particular technician including a detailed breakdown and scrutiny on the quality of their workmanship, their working practices, ensuring that they are competent to undertake the role of an industrial door engineer and ensuring that every task they undertake is done to a very highest standard.
Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) Approved Technicians

Our industry also calls for bespoke pieces of machinery use i.e. Telehandler for dock leveller installation or Fork Lift Trucks for assisted installation purposes. Again all of our engineers are trained to industry standard to use all types of machinery to complete varying tasks.
Industry Approved Qualifications
All of our engineering staff have undertaken a wide variety of supplier and industry approved training courses that are tailored for specifically for our industry. All of our engineers hold certificates to that effect. This includes new door courses, dock leveller training, door troubling shooting and repair courses. RDS engineers will also conduct and complete a coded welding course, again all in an attempt to ensure the quality of workmanship is ever present.
Asbestos Awareness, Fact Fit Testing, COSSH, Manual Handling, Harness Inspection and abrasive wheel training are also mainstay refresher training for all of our staff.
Paula Campbell – RDS UK Health & Safety Coordinator, oversees all aspects of engineer training and development was keen to express the importance of staff training “In an ever changing working environment all businesses come up against new challenges when it comes competency and health & safety. Long gone and for good reason are the days where things were done by cutting corners all for the sake of saving time and cost. We here at RDS put staff development and H&S awareness at the forefront of everything that we do, we actively encourage our staff to challenge if they feel a certain risk is evident or training is required for a certain practice. It’s never a question of how much will that be, it’s a simple question of is it needed and when can we get it arranged. All of our staff are in some form of regular refresher training and others are in a committed training matrix to ensure that everyone is working to the same standards and that they are trained to complete their tasks to the very highest of level”.
